Michelle Ollie currently resides in Vermont. She is co-founder of The Center for Cartoon Studies (http://cartoonstudies.org) in White River Junction, Vermont. She has extensive experience in higher education, marketing, and design. Most recently she was a director and faculty at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design (http://mcad.edu). At MCAD she assisted with the development and introduction of a new Bachelor of Science degree program in Visualization. Prior to MCAD, she was the development manager for Banta Corporation (http://banta.com). She has a Master in Business Administration from the University of St. Thomas (http://stthomas.edu) and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin. She teaches marketing and design topics for both MCAD and The New York Institute of Technology graduate degree program. She serves on numerous college academic advisory boards, lectures and presents at colleges and schools across the United States and internationally. Ollie is the associate editor of Mechademia, a new academic journal on anime, manga, and design, published by the University of Minnesota Press. In the late 90s she formed Ollie and Company, Inc., a Twin Cities based award winning marketing and design firm. Her consulting clients include Walsh Design Group, Inside Design, and Big Event Productions.
